“The Impossibility of Sustaining a Momentum” appropriates existing images, in this case grafitti tags found around the city of Amsterdam. The work, a slide projection show of 80 different tags by graffiti artist Again, examines the mechanism of repetition as strategy behind the coding of our city streets. On another level, the reappearance of the subject is like a memory, changing over time to assume a different form and a different meaning.
